M.Phil Library & Information Sciences to be launched
from next academic year
Allama Iqbal Open Univeristy will launch M.Phil in Library
and Information Sciences form next academic year. Admission in the new higher
level programs will be announced in semester Autumn, 2016. Academic and
administrative work to this effect has already been completed. This was stated
by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Doctor Shahid Siddique while addressing the
closing ceremony of a week long workshop of Master’s in Library and Information
sciences.
The Vice Chancellor on this occasion instructed the faculty
members to start work instantly on curriculum updating in line with the new
emerging trends of technology and market need. He further said that the
University was utilizing its resources to the maximum for development of the
university at both teaching and research prongs.
Chinese academic delegation visits AIOU, assure help in
establishing CHINESE Language Center and Joint academic Programs
A three member Chinese
academic delegation of Younan Open University visited AIOU and assured its
support for setting up a Chinese language Center at main campus of the AIOU and
launching of joint academic programs in the field of printing technology for
the benefit of Paksitani students.
The delegation visited
Pakistan on the invitation of the AIOU showed keen interest in strengthening
bilateral cooperation with the ALLAMA IQBAL OPEN UNIVERSITY in academic and
research pursuits. The delegation which was led by Professor Shi Xudong met
Professor Dr. Shahid Siddique, Vice Chancellor AIOU in the latter’s office.
Both the sides decided to implent the MoU which was signed last year. Prof.
Sudong on the occasion invited Dr. Siddique to visit Yunan Open University for
signing formal agreement in this respect.
